Lorne, Great Ocean Road

Lorne is located a leisurely two hour drive from Melbourne along the Great Ocean Road. A quiet and charming seaside town, Lorne has been popular with Victorians as an ideal holiday destination for years.

The main strip of Lorne, Mountjoy Parade, is lined with street cafes and pretty boutique stores creating a warm ambience in the town and giving it a Mediterranean feel. The foreshore of Lorne is wide, extending from the cafe strip down to the white sandy patrolled beach areas. The two kilometre stretch of beach at Lorne, perfect for swimming in the warmer months, is bordered by lawn, gum trees and picnic and barbecue areas.

Lorne has a mild climate year round and is an adventure playground for travellers. Explore the Great Ocean Road, which is recognised as one of the world's most scenic drives, all the way down to the 12 Apostles, another world renowned feature of the area. For great views of the area head to Teddy's lookout at the southern end of George Street which provides spectacular views inland as well as along the coast.

Tourists are invited to explore nearby Otway National Park. Discover the beauty of the park by bushwalking, cycling or four-wheel driving. Within the forest visitors will find the Erskine Falls and can watch as the cascading water flows into the breathtaking fern gully below.
